Our Grapeseed Oil is a light, delicate oil that adds a delicious crispness to food whilst retaining the original flavour, perfect for roasting and shallow frying. Due to its neutral flavour it is often the preferred oil of fish and seafood restaurants.
Grape seeds are a by product of wine production, therefore this oil typically originates from the wine growing regions of Europe. The oil is extracted through solvent extraction and then refined giving it a pale green/yellow colour.
Also known as Peanut or Arachis oil, Groundnut Oil is extracted from peanuts produced mainly in Africa and South America. It has a warm, rich flavour that adds a subtle, nutty taste to a variety of dishes. It is ideal for salad dressings, marinades, mayonnaise, and adds the smooth taste of peanuts to fried dishes, particularly in Chinese and continental cooking.
Safflower Oil is wonderfully light in both colour and taste and is widely used where a neutral flavour is required.
The most commercially grown material is grown in the USA, where the Safflower Oil is solvent extracted from the seeds and refined to produce a fine delicate oil.
It is particularly suited to shallow frying but can also be used in salad dressings, for basting & roasting.
Toasted sesame seed plants have been grown since ancient times, originating from Asia, also produced in South America, Africa & India. They are known to be more drought-resistant than other oil seed plants.
Our Toasted Sesame Oil is sourced from Guatemala, Japan and South America, where the seeds are lightly toasted before being expeller pressed. This results in an oil that is deliciously rich and dark brown in colour.
Toasted Sesame Oil is the leading speciality oil and is used extensively in Asian –style cuisine. It has a strong flavour and should therefore be used sparingly in stir-fry’s, to create dressings or dips or simply to drizzle over steamed rice or vegetables.
