Leading the way in sustainable palm oil

We are a founder member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), which since 2002 has led the global drive for sustainable social and environmental practices in palm oil production.

The results of our efforts are now beginning to bear fruit in two forms: the delivery of RSPO-certified sustainable palm oil, and the creation of the RSPO-endorsed GreenPalm certificate trading programme.

Certified Sustainable Palm Oil – Akopalma SG

AAK has also been supplying sustainable materials since 2008 when we secured Europe’s first shipment of sustainably produced palm oil. It was shipped into our Hull-based refinery from a Malaysian plantation company which was the first palm oil producer in the world to have been successfully audited against the RSPO’s rigorous new sustainability criteria.

As a trusted, established supply partner with a track record stretching back more than 25 years, we now supply sustainably produced palm oil under our Akopalma SG brand.

Processed to the industry-leading high quality expected from AAK, the oil is independently verified as having been sustainably produced, letting customers claim their business or brand uses sustainably produced palm oil.

Demand for CSPO us growing rapidly and 2010 will see a significant increase in our output of refined sustainable palm oil, both as a straight oil and as a blend with other oil products.

We work with customers to help them achieve their sustainability objectives. Where pure, sustainable material is not yet the right option for a customer’s needs, for example where complex blends are required, GreenPalm could be the answer.
